Applying "the customer is always right" to a sometimes inflexible industry

After more than twenty five years in the insurance industry working for multinational global companies as well as start-ups, I started BLC to have one primary goal - help customers navigate the insurance process, especially workers' compensation claims. But we keep the definition of "customer" fairly broad. For employers, their brokers, insurance industry companies, and claimants the vision is quite clear - work for all parties to solve a problem quickly, efficiently, and improve the process for the future.

Who We Serve

BLC can assist employers with any type of insurance program; fully insured, self-insured, part of a self-insured group, part of a captive, etc. We can help any size or type of employer.

Third Party Administrators & Managed Care Vendors

We understand the dynamics of small regional to national TPAs. Each has a responsibility to act in good faith on behalf of the payor and employer. At BLC we also have a deep knowledge of the Managed Care landscape and partner with vendors providing all the services surrounding claims handling. Best in class should always apply for that specific employer in their geographic region and type of business.

BLC has the expertise to partner with any type of agent, broker, or wholesaler. From a small independent to large global brokerage, we're happy to help you improve the relationship with your customers. We have the detailed understanding of the broker process and the dynamic nature of the insurance process helps BLC remain nimble to meet your needs.

We work with all shapes and sizes of carriers in the insurance marketplace. So if you're regional, national, or global company operating in the workers' compensation world, BLC is happy to assist you with delivering your service offering to the paying customer.

Our Services

Program Evaluation

We assist Employers with a variety of program evaluation points. BLC provides immediate feedback as it pertains to pricing, performance benchmarks, and gives you the ability to make informed decisions to improve your program.

TPA & Managed Care Selection

BLC assist our partners with evaluation and selection of the correct TPA. The third party administrator is an extension of your fundamental care of your employees, so the decision is an important one.  Even more than your TPA, managed care vendors can have a significant impact on the bottom line. It's important to remember that this is your program! Don't simply let the TPA choose who works for you. Let's find the best provider of services for you. Bill Review, Case Management, MPNs, PBMs, etc. are all valued services that you pay for.

RFP Assistance

We can help with the needed pre-work and creation of the proper RFP. Finding the right partner is critical to the overall performance of your program.

Business Strategy

Identity and manage the correct steps to take to improve your company's success. BLC fills the gaps with guidance and executive level feedback being an impartial partner. We have wide range of expertise in the insurance sector and a deeply talented bench of resources.

Traditional Risk Management

BLC can assist employers with identifying hazards that can cause claims to occur. Sometimes it takes an outside eye to notice possible causation of workers' compensation claims. BLC can also help employers improve standards and protocols that identify risk and build a stronger defense to avoid workplace injuries.

Customer service is just a day in, day out ongoing, never ending, unremitting, persevering, compassionate, type of activity.
